She has also studied midwifery, and offers her services in pregnancy, birth, and postpartum assistance. She has assisted many women and familiesand has facilitated regular village postnatal support groups, and education in all-women’s spaces. Currently, Oni co-facilitates Earthed to Birth @earthedtobirth , a local weekly pregnancy gardening group and is on the team running NFP PBB Media, as well as hosting the Podcast Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond.
PBB Media is an independent media organisation focused on maternity health advocacy; contemporary conversations where Stories, Science, Traditions and New Ideas meet, informing and Inspiring people to re think intergenerational wisdom through childbirth and parenting education.
Having studied literature, creative writing, photojournalism, and visual arts, Oni has a unique understanding of human nature and the human body through a framework of humanities, creative arts and anatomical physiological fields.
Oni ran The Temple of Words poetry night for four years @thetempleofwords ; a monthly poetry gathering in Byron Bay. She writes poetry prolifically and is passionate about connecting the intuitive body with confident and self-assured expression.
This diverse perspective leads into the facilitation of embodied speaking, writing and communication courses and mentoring.
Oni has recently completed a masters degree with an ethnographic research focus of Australian masculinities and male mental health within a Creative Industries perspective. She is invested in the vision of enhancing harmony within family frameworks through shifting social perspective and creating embodied awareness around the collective family nervous system.
